SRINAGAR: Senior NC leader and former cabinet minister, Ajay Sadhotra has strongly condemned the tragic incident report from Sumbal in which a minor was allegedly raped by a young man, who has already been arrested by the police.

“This is a tragedy and I do not have words to express my state if mind,” Sadotra said. “The government must quickly investigate it and the rapist must face the law as quickly as possible.”

Sadotra said the crimes against women were already creating insecurity to half of the population and now the tragic cases of minors being molested and raped started reporting. “The law and order machinery must especially tackle these crimes so that they are not repeated,” Sadotra said.

The incident has already sent tens of thousands of people on the road. On Monday, Kashmir remained closed in protest and the authorities closed down the schools also. There were dozens of protests reported from across Kashmir. For most of the day, there was no movement possible on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway.
