SRINAGAR: Commissioner Secretary Public Health & Engineering and Irrigation & Flood Control, Ajeet Kumar Sahu on Friday convened a meeting to review the winter preparedness in Kashmir valley.

During the meeting, strict instructions were passed on to all the Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers to ensure regular supply of water to all households. He stressed on the need to plug any loopholes so that the common populace does not face any kind of inconvenience, the spokesman said.

Sahu also instructed the officials to ensure running of diesel gensets and availability of chemicals, POL during the winters so that general public does not suffer on account of winter disruptions.

Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) that aims to give tap-water to all households by 2024 also came up for discussion during the meeting and it was stressed on providing of 100% water supply to each and every household.

Strict instructions were passed on to the concerned officials to cover every house hold of Kashmir valley under the scheme and were directed to achieve targets within the deadline. The Commissioner Secretary ensured full funding under the programme and assured full assistance so that common people are benefited.
