In a post on X, Lone referred to photographs from the Chief Minister’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, commenting on what he described as “optics” and suggesting that public perception was being closely watched.

Lone claimed that during the meeting, the Chief Minister raised concerns regarding delays in the reservation file’s clearance. However, he said the CM was informed that the file had already been forwarded by the Centre three weeks earlier, adding that this indicated a possible communication gap within the Chief Minister’s office.

He further stated that the Union government had sought details on how the Sub-Committee formulated its recommendations on reservation. According to Lone, key questions remain unanswered regarding the methodology and data used in the process.

Raising similar concerns previously in the Assembly, the PC chief said there was no evidence of research supporting the recommendations. He argued that such decisions should be based on verifiable data and rigorous study capable of withstanding scrutiny.

Lone described the government’s handling of the matter as casual, particularly on issues of public importance.
