Sajad Lone grieved over loss of lives at Khooni nallah near Sadhna Top

Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone senior leader and parliamentary candidate from Baramulla Raja Aijaz Ali have expressed grief and sorrow over the death of three people due to an avalanche near Khoni Nallah at Sadhna Top and urged the Governor administration to extend all possible assistance to the bereaved families.

“Yet another accident claims three precious lives at Sadhna pass en route to Karnah. This pass has claimed hundreds of lives so far. A tunnel is a necessity to end the travails of inhabitants of Karnah”, Sajad Lone said while expressing grief over the incident.

Raja Aijaz also expressed sorrow over the incident and supported the demand for the tunnel to Karnah. “I am extremely pained to hear about the unfortunate loss of precious lives. I urge the administration to airlift the bodies to the native village of the deceased in Tangdhar and extend all possible help and announce ex gratia relief to the families of the deceased”, the spokesman quoted the leader as saying.

On Monday late evening, three persons were killed while two had a miraculous escape after a snow blizzard hit them at Khoni Nallah forests of north Kashmir’s Kupwara. Reports said that the five persons were trapped in the blizzards at Khoni Nallah near Sadna Top when they were travelling towards Karnah when the blizzard swept Khoni Nallah area at around 1:00 am.

During the incident, two persons had a miraculous escape, the officials said. The duo later immediately informed police and army who rushed to the spot and found three persons dead.

The deceased have been identified as Tahir Younis Khawaja (22) son of Mohd Younis, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh (40) son of Ghulam Qadir, both residents of Hajinard Karnah and Fareed Ahmad (25) son of Laldin of Shams Pora, Karnah.
