Sajid Iqbal Foundation Organises Blood Donation Camp

In memory of late Sajid Iqbal Khanday, who died in a car accident in May 2011, ‘Sajid Iqbal Foundation: Peace and Human Rights’ organized a blood donation camp at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura.

The Director SKIMS Dr Showkat Zargar hailed the effort as great contribution to humanitarian cause. “The blood donated strengthens source at SKIMS and also comes as an incentive to other social groups to make similar contribution to benefit poor and needy patients,” he said.

Executive Director of the foundation Sehr Iqbal appreciated the response of volunteers and their enthusiasm to donate blood on the occasion. She said foundation will continue such activities in future as well so that critical patients who are referred to SKIMS are benefited.

According to PRO SKIMS, Kulsoom Bhat, Senior Resident Department of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology and Hemoglobin Dr Furqan Iqbal Bhat informed 65 units of blood were donated by volunteers which will be of great help in meeting the requirements of needy patients.

Chief Secretary Iqbal khanday and Kaneez Fatima were present on the occasion. They were received by Director and Dr Omar Javid Shah HOD Surgical Gastroenterology, Dr Gul Javid HOD Gastroenterology Dr Aijaz Mustafa MS SKIMS.

Sajid Iqbal Foundation was founded in 2011 and is involved in various social activities.
