Addressing a gathering in Pulwama, Sakina said that Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was responsible for the imposition of AFSPA in Jammu and Kashmir.

“If AFSPA is continuing in Jammu and Kashmir, who enacted it? It was Mufti Muhammad Sayeed,” she said.

She added that AFSPA was introduced when Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was the Union Home Minister.

Slamming the PDP for its politics over private members’ bills, Sakina questioned why the party did not bring such bills when it was in power.

“Why didn’t you bring these bills in 2014 and 2018 when you were in alliance with the BJP?” she asked, adding that the PDP is doing this only to gain sympathy, but people are aware of its designs.

She further said that the National Conference stands with farmers and that they cannot be evicted from the land they have possessed for decades.

“Nobody can evict farmers from land which has been in their possession for over 50 years,” she said, adding that the government stands firmly with farmers.

She, however, added that the theatrics of planting paddy saplings will not work. (KNO)
