Sakina Itoo Visits South Kashmir Fire Victims, Assures Full Govt Support

   

SRINAGAR: Cabinet Minister Sakina Masood Itoo on Friday visited the fire victims of Kadipora, Anantnag, and assured them of full government support.

Speaking to the victims, Itoo, said, “We have been sent by CM Omar Abdullah himself, and all possible help from the government will be provided.” She also assured that a meeting would soon be held with the district administration to finalise a concrete relief plan.

Itoo was accompanied by NC leaders Altaf Kaloo and Majeed Larmi.

More than a dozen residential houses were damaged in a massive fire that broke out this afternoon in Kadipora. “Houses belonging to Manzoor Ahmad Reshi, Zahoor Ahmad Reshi, Farooq Ahmad Reshi, Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh, Sonaullah Shaksaaz, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Akbar Bhat, Khan, and others were engulfed in flames.”

Fire and Emergency Services teams, along with locals and Anantnag Police, worked tirelessly to control the fire, but it caused extensive property damage before being brought under control.

Locals have appealed for urgent relief and assistance, while authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze. (JKNS)
