“Looking at my father and his struggle for survival at infamous cells of Tihar Jail, I always thought, if he could face such a grim situation, why can’t I pass a simple examination. If I have come off with flying colors today, it is just because of my belief in father’s struggle and the strength that my mother provided to me,” Sama Shabir Shah told CNS.

Sama who is the student of Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar has secured 97.8 percent marks in the 12th class examination.

“My parents have always been a constant source of inspiration for me. Despite disturbing atmosphere at my home, I never gave stress and anxiety any space in my life and during my studies my only focus was to make my incarcerated father proud. Alhamdulillah, I did it.”

While responding to a question, Sama Shabir Shah said that it is important to stay focused right from the beginning of your preparations. “Develop knowledge of each subject you study and ensure that you test this knowledge regularly. It is equally important to both study hard and studies smart without feeling any pressure and stress. I visited a couple of times to Tihar Jail to meet my father. The hardships and humiliation we faced there is unfathomable. I erased those memories and concentrated on the goal that I wanted to achieve,” she said.

She thanked all the well-wishers who appreciated her effort on social media.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the class 12 results on Saturday afternoon on the official website of the board. (CNS)
