Strongly condemning the killing of a civilian at Sarore Samba and burning and demolishing of the mud houses of the Gujjar localities of the area, chairman Hurriyat Conference (g) Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday said that on the directions of the BJP and Shiv Sena, the Jammu Development Authority is rendering the poor people homeless without providing any alternate residential place for them.

“They are only being punished because of their Muslim identity,” Geelani said.

The Hurriyat patriarch cautioned that the people of the valley will never leave their Jammu brethren over the mercy of the communal forces and “we will not allow the repetition of the bloody history of 1947”.

On the directions of Geelani, a delegation led by Hurriyat leader Sartaj Sharif today visited the Sarore Samba and expressed sympathy and solidarity with the poor Gujjar people there.
