Senior Congress politician and Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori Tuesday highlighted the issues which were raised by him in the District Development board review meeting of Doda district which was chaired by Minister for Animal and Husbandry Sajjad Gani Lone.

MLA Inderwal highlighted various issues related to different sectors which include providing of negotiation rate to the private land owner of Ghat the identified place for the construction of Medical College Doda, recommendation should be sent to state government for granting the status of hill development council to the Chenab Valley for the better development of the three districts- Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban, a statement issued by Saroori said this evening.

In the review meeting Saroori said, “I failed to know that why DDC Doda visits outside the Thathri when the Government Degree College Thathri is sanctioned by the cabinet in the year 2007 for the Thathri area of Inderwal constituency. He said that SDM Thathri along with other sectoral officers has proposed the land for the construction of GDC Thathri at Upper Thathri which is suitable and feasible chunk of land around 50-80 kanals of plain land in which the land owner has also agreed to give land for the establishment of the GDC College at Thathri.”

He impressed upon DC Doda for immediate acquiring of land at Upper Thathri so that construction work would be started at an earliest.

Saroori expressed concern over removal of Urdu language from the syllabus for departmental examination of Patwaris. “It is blatantly against the orders of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in which court had said that Urdu test is necessary for Naib-Tehsildar and Patwari examinations.”

He said, “there are departments like Revenue, Police, Court and Forests etc where records are maintained in Urdu language which is the official language of the state.”

He demanded immediate inclusion of Urdu language for Patwari exams.

He further said that it was decided in the last DDB meeting that Irrigation department will start the left over construction of Kandi Canal project in tehsil Thathri of district Doda which was approved by central water commission under Major/Medium irrigation scheme in the year 2006-2007. But the department has yet not completed the paper works of the project. He demanded immediate start of work on the left over work on the Kandi canal.

Saroori said 69 sub-centres were sanction by UPA II for the district Doda in which material is sanctioned, salaries of FMPHW has also been released but yet the government failed in opening of the sub-centres in the far flung areas of district Doda. He demanded immediate opening of sanctioned sub-centres so that general public won’t face any hardship in regard to health sector. He also expressed grave concern over the shortage of staff in Accidental, trauma hospital Thathri PHC Malanoo, Jakyas, Sub centres Bathri, Tanta, Trankhle, Challar, Chinyas and other health institutions. He said that people in far flung areas are facing lot of problems due to lack of Medicare facilities, doctors and para -medical staff. He demanded immediate filling of vacant posts of Physician, Surgeon, Gynecologist and Para-medical staff in these hospitals.

Besides, MLA Inderwal also pressed for early clearance of MGNREGA liability for the 2013-14, 2014-15, early start of Construction work on TRC Thathri, bus stand, posting of headmasters, principle, teachers in the vacant schools of Thathri, Kahara, Gandoh, Bhaderwah, Doda.

He also impress upon Superintending Engineer PWD Doda to work on tandem with Municipal Committees Thathri and Doda and ensure that all the blocked drains are cleared within a week time. SDM Thathri was asked to report the progress of work to DC Doda.

Saroori said that Animal and Sheep husbandry department belong to the Chairperson of the District Development board, so he should sanction at least four Animal sheep centres for Kahara tehsil, two each for Thathri and Bhatyas areas. Early start of work on RGGVY Phase II in which 25KV transformers will be replaced with 63KV new transformer, new poles, wires, argumentation of electricity in all the areas of Sub-Division Thathri, Gandoh. He also demanded for providing of solar lights to the partially electrified areas of sub-division Thathri and Gandoh areas of district Doda keeping in view the geographical and topographical conditions of the area.

He pressed for construction of various link roads including link road from Chabba to Dugroon, Batogra to Kanoo, Goila to Trankhle, Kahi to Kashi Thawa, Tanta to Dramman, Bhatyas to Sanought, Bathri to Dugroon, Lower Bathri to upper Bathri, Nagni road upto high school Patshalla besides early resumption of broken water supply schemes and pressed for sanctioning of water supply schemes in the area having scarcity of water including Kansoo-Dugroon, Bhatyas-Jakyas, Indloo-Kahara, Kakoota, Tanta, Dramman, Batogra, Gugara, Kencha-Bitola, Drought-Batoli, Nagni-Piyakul and others.

Saroori also opened up that these issues were the part of major decisions taken for the development purpose in the previous DDB meeting chaired by CM J&K Mufti Mohammad Sayeed but nothing appears on the ground so far as the implementation part is concern.
