The state Congress chief GA Mir said on Tuesday that the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti must come clear over the government formation and should not create chaos among peoples’ minds any further.
Mir told a local news gathering agency, KNS, that the situation is turning worrisome every day due to the present stalemate and PDP’s politics. The state Congress chief has said the need of an hour is that at an earliest Mehbooba should either say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the government formation so that the uncertainty could end without further delay. “What we are witnessing at present is that the PDP is playing politics with everyone. They are adding chaos to the already perturbed situation. They should come clear that whether they want to form the government or intend to break party’s bonhomie with the BJP,” Mir said, adding that what Congress party has been saying since the past 10 months has been vindicated.
“Now, the PDP is demanding CBMs, they want reassurances. Can’t we ask them what they were doing since the past 10 months? What measures have they taken to mitigate the sufferings of the people of the state?” asked the Congress chief.
He said Mehbooba’s statement after meeting the Governor on Tuesday proved that the PDP hasn’t done anything for the people till date and is now striving to reclaim the lost ground. Pertinently, Mehbooba after meeting Vohra in Jammu told press, “The Government of India should initiate Jammu and Kashmir specific CBMs before the formation of government in the state.”
