SRINAGAR: SBI, one of the country’s premier and oldest banking institutions, in association with the Department of Handicrafts and Handlooms, J&K, organised an Exporters Connect Programme for the exporters of Srinagar and Anantnag district at Conference Hall, Kashmir Haat, Srinagar, under the GoI scheme of One District One Product (ODOP). The GoI has allocated Srinagar and Anantnag district for the promotion of Handicrafts at the international level.

The function was presided over by General Manager SBI, A.K Jha and Director Handicrafts Kashmir, Mahmood Shah. Around 150 exporters engaged with the handicrafts in Kashmir valley attended the programme.

The SBI team from Regional Office, Srinagar, gave a presentation to the exporters regarding the various schemes and benefits extended by the Handloom Department for the promotion of handloom. The presentation covered various loan facilities and benefits like Gold Card Scheme, etc. for exporters, and various facilities of import and exports.

The exporters praised SBI’s initiative to organize such a program catering to the needs of the exporters and promoting the local handicrafts at the international level. Vinod Dhar, AGM, SME J&K, Gurbinder Batra, Regional Manager, Srinagar, along with AGMs, C.M Bhat and Bashir Ahmed, were present.
