SRINAGAR: Rolls-Royce India Private Limited has introduced the ‘Rolls-Royce Unnati Scholarship for Women Engineering Students’ aimed at providing financial support to 150 outstanding female students pursuing undergraduate engineering programmes. Applications for the scholarship for the academic year 2023-24 are now open, with a deadline of August 31, 2023.
The scholarship is available to female students currently enrolled in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of an engineering degree programme at an institution recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Eligible applicants will receive a scholarship amount of INR 35,000 to cover their academic expenses throughout the engineering programme. Furthermore, recipients will have the opportunity to benefit from mentorship provided by top professionals at Rolls-Royce India.
The scholarship programme is open to students from all over India, with a particular emphasis on individuals belonging to special categories, including those with physical disabilities, single parents, and orphans. Candidates must meet certain criteria, such as scoring more than 60 per cent marks in their Class 10 and 12 board exams and having an annual family income not exceeding INR 4 lakh.
Previous recipients of the scholarship in 2022 who are currently in their 4th year of engineering studies are also eligible to apply. Applicants are required to submit several documents, including a passport-size photograph, address proof, Aadhaar card, self-attested copies of Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, previous academic year mark sheets (for re-applying scholars), proof of current academic year admission, a duly filled undertaking form authorized by the college, and the scholarship applicant’s bank account details (cancelled cheque or passbook copy).
