SRINAGAR: Authorities have ordered the closure of all schools in Gurez Subdivision until March 15 due to heavy snowfall and avalanche risk.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez Mukhtar Ahmad Ahanger issued the directive, citing severe weather conditions that have made travel hazardous for students and staff. “Considering the safety and well-being of all concerned, all schools in Gurez Subdivision shall remain closed until March 15, 2025,” the order reads.
School heads have been instructed to ensure compliance. Copies of the directive have been sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora, the Director of School Education (Kashmir), and other officials for enforcement.
