SRINAGAR: Dr Farooq Abdullah, National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar, stressed the significance of moral education for children’s overall well-being during the annual cultural day event at Presentation Convent School in Srinagar.

He expressed concern over the prevalence of crime, hatred, and greed in today’s world, including the situation in Kashmir.

He remarked, “People have forgotten their humanity and are only focused on themselves. The voices of various perspectives have multiplied in our valley, which was once known for its wise sages and sufis.”

Dr Farooq observed that contemporary youth often struggle to distinguish right from wrong, influenced by the negative aspects of the internet and other platforms.

He asserted the vital role of schools in instilling positive values in children, emphasising the importance of integrity, morality, and truthfulness. He extended his best wishes to the school administration, hoping they would continue to make a meaningful contribution to society. (KNO)
