SRINAGAR: All Schools across the Kashmir Division reopened on Monday for students of Classes 9 to 12 following the conclusion of the winter vacation.
According to Government Order No. 665-JK (Edu) of 2025, dated November 25, 2025, schools are reopening in a phased manner to ensure a smooth transition back to academic activities. Within Srinagar municipal limits, school timings are 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, while in other districts of Kashmir and the Jammu Winter Zone, timings are 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
School authorities have been instructed to create a welcoming environment and focus on activity-based, experiential learning to restore academic momentum. Officials stressed the need for preparedness to ensure smooth conduct of classes across the Valley, including remote areas where winter conditions often disrupt schooling.
Students from pre-primary to Class 8 are scheduled to resume classes from March 1, 2026, after their winter break ends on February 28. Teaching staff were asked to report on February 20 to make necessary academic and administrative arrangements ahead of reopening.
In the Summer Zone of Jammu, the winter break ended on January 10, and normal classes resumed from January 12.
