An enforcement team of Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) in a major drive demolished a number of illegal constructions in several areas 0f the city today, much to the pleasure of the common people.
A spokesman of the SDA said the drive was launched under a special demolition campaign and demolitions took place in Parimpora, Bemina, Batmaloo and Kashkash Bagh in the city. However, he did not divulge the exact number of illegal constructions and structures demolished.
Besides the demolition, the team also sealed and cleared land in these areas which was grabbed by the encroachers, he said.
The spokesman said the encroachers and land grabbers created hurdles in the demolition process but the team of SDA continued the work assigned to them.
He warned the residents living in the SDA jurisdiction not to indulge in illegal construction activities or dumping the construction material on the SDA land.
The authority will continue the demolition drive of illegal construction in the areas against the encroachers and land grabbers, he added.
Common people across the city appreciated the SDA for demolition of the illegal constructions and clearing government land grabbed by some unscrupulous elements. (Kashmir Wire).
