SRINAGAR: A joint search operation to trace a 25-year-old man who allegedly jumped into the River Jhelum at Pantha Chowk entered its fourth consecutive day on Sunday, officials said.
The operation is being carried out in the River Jhelum at Sempora by teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Quick Response Team (QRT) Pantha Chowk, SDRF QRT Battalion Headquarters Srinagar and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
The search is aimed at retrieving the body of Sajad Ahmad Mir, 25, a resident of Balhama in Srinagar, who reportedly jumped into the River Jhelum on July 23.
Officials said the operation remained underway on Sunday, with rescue teams continuing to search the river.
The body had not been recovered at the time of filing this report.
