SRINAGAR: Search operations to trace a 25-year-old man who reportedly jumped into the River Jhelum at Sempora, Pantha Chowk, entered the fifth consecutive day on Monday, officials said.
The operation is being carried out jointly by the SDRF Quick Response Team (QRT), Pantha Chowk, the SDRF QRT Battalion Headquarters, Srinagar, and local volunteers.
The missing man has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Mir, son of a resident of Balhama in Srinagar. According to officials, he reportedly jumped into the River Jhelum on July 23.
Rescue teams have been conducting extensive searches along the river since the incident, but the body had not been recovered when the report was filed.
The search operation is continuing.
