SRINAGAR: The counter insurgent forces on Thursday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora town, officials said.

Quoting the officials the news agency KNO reported that Army’s 14 RR, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched the search operation after inputs about the presence of militants in the main town.

They said that the search operation in the area is going on. However, no contact has been established with the militants so far.

The eyewitness, meanwhile, said that the heavy deployment of forces has surrounded the entire Gulshan-Chowk and searches are going.
