SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Tuesday launched a search operation to trace the body of a 10-year-old boy who accidentally drowned in the Kishanganga River in the Gurez area of Bandipora district.
The boy has been identified as Babar Bashir Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Sheikhpora, Tulail.
Officials said the child drowned in the Kishanganga River near Sheikhpora in Tulail following the accident. Soon after receiving information, SDRF teams launched a search and rescue operation to locate and retrieve the body.
The search operation was continuing at the time of filing this report, while further details were awaited from the authorities.
