Market regulator SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) Friday opened its Jammu local office at 4th Floor, B2 South Block Bahu Plaza Jammu.

The office was inaugurated by SEBI, Regional Director (NRO) Amit Pradhan in presence of SEBI Deputy General Manager (NRO) Surya Kant, an official spokesperson said this evening.

For promoting a balanced pan Indian Securities market and in order to bring physical proximity of SEBI offices to the investors and intermediaries, the Regional Director informed that SEBI has decided to open Local Offices in various parts of the country.

He said that the functions of Local Office include facilitating the redressal of investor grievances against listed companies and securities market intermediaries, to spread investor education and financial literacy within its jurisdiction.
