Police had to use tear smoke shells and lathi charge to disperse the protesters after another woman died at District Hospital Pulwama allegedly due to doctor’s negligence resulting in fresh protests in the town.

This is the second death in the hospital in two days.

Local sources said that a woman identified as Khurshida, wife of Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Lajura area died today morning after she developed complications following her delivery.

They said that Khurshida was operated last night and she gave birth to a baby.

Pertinently, a woman and her new-born died at the same hospital last night, triggering massive protests against the hospital administration.

After the death of second lady people assembled outside the hospital and held massive protests. Police swung into action and used tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters.

Shopkeepers downed their shutters and assembled outside the office of the deputy commissioner. The protests were going on when the reports last came in.

 Meanwhile, official sources informed Kashmir Life that district administration suspended Dr Tahira Rasool, Dr Tasleema and Dr Tahira posted at district hospital Pulwama and attached them to sub district hospital Sopore.
