Security has been beefed up for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra which is scheduled to start in the next few days. With additional companies of the police forces, Army and CRPF have also been called for security.amarnath_latest

Sources told a local news agency, KNS that government have made multi-dimensional plans for fool proof security apart from district police, additional companies of police, army and CRPF will look after the security arrangements.

Special strategy has been devised to prevent any untoward incident. Special directions have been made to the Road Opening Party (RPO) for the surveillance of the pilgrimage route under their control and placement of forces on the yatra route have also be completed a high police official told KNS.

All the police stations have been directed to keep a vigil in the adjoin areas as well as the Yatra route. Security personnel have been put on alert.

Meanwhile sources in Home department told KNS, “To avoid any possible militant strikes during the coming Amarnath pilgrimage from Jammu to south Kashmir Himalayas, the Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to specify places for the brief halt of pilgrims’ convoy.

The government has also fixed timings for the passage of convoys through various points enroute the 300-km long Jammu-Srinagar Highway. Sources also said this is being done in view of the recent spurt in militant activities in various parts of the state.

IG CRPF VS Yadu told KNS that 60 additional companies of CRPF are being called for providing security to the pilgrimage.

“60 additional companies of CRPF are coming in the state for the Amaranth yatra security,” Yadu told KNS.
