SRINAGAR: A man was apprehended on Friday after he scaled the wall of Parliament and reached near the Garuda Gate of the new complex, official sources said according to multiple media reports.
The incident, as per NDTV report, occurred around 6:30 am when the man jumped over the wall from the Rail Bhawan side before being overpowered by security personnel and handed over to the police.
The breach comes months after a major security lapse in December 2023, when two individuals leapt into the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors’ gallery and released yellow smoke during Zero Hour, leading to the arrest of six people.
Meanwhile security agencies have initiated an investigation and further details are awaited.
