SRINAGAR: Security forces on Wednesday diffused an improvised explosive device (IED) recovered from an orchard in Shopian district of south Kashmir, officials told Daily Excelsior.
The device, weighing approximately 6 kg, was found in Awneera village during a search operation conducted ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. The IED was subsequently destroyed in a controlled explosion, officials said.
