Security Forces Recover IEDs, Pistols and Ammunition in North Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Security forces recovered a large cache of arms and explosives during a joint search operation in the Kandi forest area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday, the Indian Army said.

According to the Army, the operation was launched on July 20 on the basis of specific intelligence inputs and was carried out jointly by the 52 Rashtriya Rifles, Baramulla Police, 53 Battalion CRPF and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

During the search, the joint team recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two pistols and 530 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition concealed in the forest area.

The Indian Army described the recovery as a significant success, stating that it had the potential to prevent terror-related activities in the region.

Further investigation into the recovery is underway.
