The state government is providing security to 1278 Protected Persons (PPs) in the shape of PSOs/residential guards/vehicles/Hotel accommodation etc.
According to an official statement, Minister for Hajj and Auqaf, Abdul Rehman Veeri on behalf of Chief Minister while replying to a question by Jugal Kishore in LC.
The Minister said monthly expenditure on account of security of these protected persons in Rs 10,88,53,460.75 per month (approx) which includes salary of PSOs , Fuel, Hotel, Accommodation and Residential Guard etc.
He further said that security wing of the State Police provides security cover to the Protected Persons as per instructions/directions contained in yellow book on the basis of threat perception assessed through CID and is also position based. The State Level Security Review Coordination Committee (SRCC) meets periodically to review the categorisation of the Protected Persons as per the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs laid down in the yellow book, he added.
