A group of independent Journalist’s Seema Mustafa, Sukumar Murlidaram, Anand Shay and Prem Shankar Jha Saturday held a press conference in Srinagar.
The group was on a visit to Kashmir valley to assess the situation that erupted after the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani.
“For last three days we were in Kashmir to prepare a report about the situation prevailing in Kashmir,” said Seema Mustafa.
While talking about the preparation of the report she said that they met a cross section of society including locals, youngster’s and others. However, she said, they could meet only Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from the “separatist camp”. “The foursome talked to Yasin Malik over phone.”
They said that they will compile a comprehensive report and later submit it to the Government of India, members of the opposition, civil societies and journalists as well.
Prem Shankar Jha said that the group came to Srinagar to get the exact details about the situation from the ground.
The report compiled by the foursome will be released on December 6, 2016 in New Delhi.
Pertinently, a delegation led by former union minister Yashwant Sinha, which recently came to Kashmir and met a cross section of the society, has also submitted its report to the government about the current situation in the Valley.
