Senior Hurriyat leader, Ashraf Sehrai has been officially appointed as the chairman of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) after he emerged victorious through a voting process over the past few days.
Sehrai was elected by majority votes to be the chairman of the Tehrek-e-Hurriyat for next three years.
Sehrai secured 410 votes out of the total 433 votes.
Syed Ali Geelani refrained from participating in the election due to his bad health.
Sehrai was earlier nominated as the new chairman of the TeH by his leader Syed Ali Geelani.
