A senior KAS officer Kalyan Singh Parihar, presently posted as Additional Secretary R&B Friday died in a road accident when the car he was travelling along with three other members of his family skidded off the road near petrol pump Khellani on Batote –Doda highway.
He was travelling with his wife Anita Devi, Aunt Uma Devi and brother-in-law Vinkal Kumar when the tragedy stuck. His wife and Aunt also died in the accident whereas his brother-in-law received grave injuries and was airlifted to GMC Jammu.
He was travelling to his native village Jodhpur to attend the funeral of his father who died last night. The passer by immediately rushed the occupants of the car to District Hospital Doda where except Vinkal Kumar all were declared brought dead.
Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr Bhupinder Kumar , SSP Doda Mr Z.N Manhas and other officers have expressed grief and deep shock at the tragic demise of the dynamic KAS officer .
