SRINAGAR: Police arrested seven alleged drug peddlers in separate operations in Anantnag district and recovered 3.118 kilograms of ganja and 55 grams of charas, officials said on Saturday.
According to a police spokesperson, three alleged peddlers were arrested at Hatigam crossing in the Sringufwara area. Police recovered 1.378 kilograms of ganja and 12 grams of charas during the operation, the spokesperson said.
In a separate action at Nowshara Crossing, police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered 1.740 kilograms of ganja from them.
Police also arrested an alleged peddler from High Ground Road and recovered 20 grams of charas, the spokesperson said.
Another alleged drug peddler, identified as a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was arrested in Sangam. Police recovered 23 grams of charas from his possession, he said.
The arrests were made as part of police operations against drug trafficking in the district.
