SRINAGAR: The Sopore Police District on Monday ordered a reshuffle of officers, transferring and posting seven police personnel to different police stations and police posts with immediate effect.
According to an order issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Inspector Ayaz Rasool Geelani has been transferred from DPL Sopore and posted as SHO Police Station Dangiwacha, while Inspector Iftkhar Hussain has been moved from Police Station Tarzoo and posted as SHO Police Station Sopore.
Inspector Syed Owais Geelani has been posted as SHO Police Station Panzalla after being transferred from DPL Sopore. Inspector Syed Junaid Showkat, who was serving as SHO Police Station Dangiwacha, has been transferred to DPL Sopore as RI/C ERSS/PCR Sopore.
Inspector Mohammad Shafi has been transferred from Police Station Panzalla and posted as SHO Police Station Tarzoo.
The order also shifted PSI Khalid Mehmood from IC Police Post Frutimandi to IC Police Post Watergam, while PSI Mohammad Owaise has been transferred from IC Police Post Watergam to IC Police Post Frutimandi.
The reshuffle was ordered in the interest of administration and to ensure effective functioning of police stations, police posts and other units in Police District Sopore.
The order further stated that the officers shall be relieved forthwith and report to their new places of posting without any joining time. Proper handing and taking over of charge, including official records, case files, government property and arms and ammunition, has also been directed.
Separately, DySP (Probationer) Akash Kapoor, who had been holding independent charge of Police Station Sopore, has been relieved of the charge after completing two months of practical training. He has been directed to report to DPL Sopore for undergoing the remaining components of his prescribed practical training programme.
