SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather alert for various parts of Kashmir, warning of heavy to intense showers accompanied by gusty winds expected to affect the region in the coming hours.

According to the MET Centre, the system is rapidly approaching the Kashmir Valley, with weather conditions likely to deteriorate across many parts of Kashmir including Budgam, Pampore, Awantipora, Pulwama, and other areas of South Kashmir.
Residents have been advised to take strict precautions, including avoiding contact with electric poles, live cables, old trees, and unstable structures, which may pose a danger due to strong winds.
The advisory also calls for an immediate suspension of all boating and shikara rides, especially in Dal Lake and other water bodies, until conditions improve.
