The Jammu and Srinagar Highway remain closed for the second consecutive day Monday, after Banihal and Islamabad regions in the valley witnessed light to moderate snowfall in the morning.

As per Sonum Lotus, director of Metrological department (MeT), the Banihal, Islamabad regions witnessed light to moderate snowfall on Monday morning and light snowfall was recorded at some places in Ladakh region.

“But the weather will improve from afternoon and there will be decrease in snowfall activity from this evening,” he said.

Lotus further added that the weather will remain dry for coming 3 to 4 days.

As per the MeT officials, the temperature was recorded minus 0.4 in Srinagar, minus 2.6 in Qazigund, minus 4.0 in Pahalgam, minus 2.7 in Kupwara and Kokernag, minus 9.6 in Gulmarg and minus 9.0 in Leh.
