Traffic department authorities on Monday said that in wake of fair weather and road condition only stranded heavy motor vehicles will be allowed to proceed on the highway from Jammu to Srinagar tomorrow.

According to the advisory of the traffic department, today traffic movement affected on Jammu Srinagar NHW-44 due to intermittent shooting stones near Sharika Mandir and between Ramban- Banihal stretch on NHW-44. Subject to fair weather/clearance of road tomorrow on 05.03.2019 only stranded vehicles i.e. HMVs shall be allowed towards Srinagar.

“No any type of LMV (PSV) shall be allowed towards Srinagar from Jammu side,” said the advisory issued by traffic department.

“All the concerned will ensure strict implementation of traffic plan/ advisory for hassle-free movement of HMVs on the highway,” it said.

However, Leh-Srinagar highway, connecting Ladakh region with the valley, and historic Mughal road remained closed for traffic due to the accumulation of snow.

People are advised to undertake a journey on the highway only after confirming the status of the road from below mentioned phone Nos.
