Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic, Mehboob Ahmad said that all vehicles must be parked only at designated parking lots and not on the road. He warned that any vehicle found parked on the roadside and disrupting traffic flow will be lifted without notice.

“On Shab-e-Mehraj, large gatherings are expected at Hazratbal. To avoid congestion and inconvenience to the public, no roadside parking will be allowed on Srinagar–Hazratbal Road,” the DSP said.

He further appealed to devotees, particularly those travelling from north Kashmir, to use the Qamarwari–Ali Jan–Lal Bazar route while heading towards Hazratbal, so as to ease traffic pressure on the main stretch.

He said adequate deployment has been planned to regulate traffic and facilitate smooth movement of both devotees and general commuters during the religious occasion.

He appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic personnel and follow the advisory in letter and spirit to avoid inconvenience and ensure a peaceful observance of Shab-e-Mehraj. [KNT]
