Shabir Shah, the secretary general of Hurriyat (g) Friday slammed the state administration for re-arresting Masarat Alam Bhat saying by doing so, the authorities once again validated our point that there is no political space for the resistance leadership in the State.

In a statement issued here, Shah while criticising authorities said, “The so-called government is scared of the resistance leadership. The attitude towards Masarat Alam Bhat is dictatorial and barbaric. There is no legal or constitutional justification of prolonging his incarceration. Slapping another PSA against Alam reveals nothing but frustration of the state administration.”

He also expressed strong resentment over the arrest of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat provincial president Abdul Gani Bhat, representatives and activists of Jama’at-e-Islami, Umat-e-Islami, JKLF, and other pro-freedom parties saying the thousands of arbitrary arrests has punctured the balloon of the so-called ‘battle of ideas’. He said there is no doubt that PDP is just fulfilling the agenda of RSS in Jammu Kashmir.
