Adbi Markaz Kamraz (AMK) Wednesday released a book “Shairee Manz Ehtijaaj” (Protest in Poetry) by one of the Bandipora Literary Forum members and young Kashmiri scholar Dr Nisar-Un-Nabi.

The function was presided over by noted poet and scholar Dr Shad Ramzan and while former KCCI President Shakeel Qalander was chief guest at a function held at seminar Hall of JK Cultural Academy Srinagar.

Commenting on the book, AMK president Dr Aziz Hajni said the title “Protest in Poetry” is an interesting topic to work on in detail and congratulated the author for choosing this innovative topic and we appreciate young scholars who work on such topics, the statement said.

Rising Kashmir Editor-in-Chief Dr Syed Shujaat Bukhari said the topic is interesting and young scholars need to work on such topics.

“Lashing out at poets and scholars,” the statement said, “he said our poets have protested through their poetry but don’t express it. The author has tried to identify the protests of several poets and that is a great job done by young scholar.”

Dr Shaad Ramzan termed the books as a milestone in critical and protest poetry.

“The book will act as a reference book for other scholars to extend the field of research,” he added.

The author has put forward his research on “Protest in Poetry”. The 221 page book encompasses the poetic literature of five languages for the author’s research which include Arabic, English, Kashmiri, Persian and Urdu.

Scholars on the occasion reviewed the books and held discussions over different aspects of the book, the statement said.

On the occasion, the statement said, AMK president Dr Aziz Hajni said the conglomerate will take every step to preserve the Kashmir language.

He said AMK will start deliberations with the state government regarding the problems faced by Kashmiri language and literature in the present scenario.
