SRINAGAR: The Rs 81.72-crore Shalteng-Parimpora flyover project has achieved around 10 per cent physical progress since work commenced in January 2026, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed the Legislative Assembly.
In a written reply to an Un-Starred Question by MLA Tariq Hamed Karra, the Public Works (R&B) Department said the project was currently under execution in accordance with the approved scope, technical specifications and contractual provisions.
The government said the project was progressing as per schedule and had a sanctioned completion period of 730 days. It added that there was no delay in the project as of now.
The department clarified that funds were not released directly at the project level. Payments for executed work are generated and forwarded to the Regional Office of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for processing and payment.
Despite the physical progress recorded, no bill or payment had been processed so far against the work executed, the government said.
It also stated that no major modification or deviation from the approved Detailed Project Report or the sanctioned alignment of the elevated structure was under consideration.
The government ruled out delays arising from land acquisition, utility shifting, right-of-way availability or rehabilitation issues, stating that the required right of way was fully available.
No rehabilitation or compensation provision has been kept in the sanctioned flyover for affected shopkeepers, landowners or other stakeholders, the reply said.
During construction, the executing agency is taking measures to maintain access to residential areas, commercial establishments and local roads. Temporary diversions, safety arrangements, signage and traffic-management measures are being provided wherever required to minimise inconvenience to the public.
