After 14 hour long gun fight in Hushroo village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, forces Thursday claimed that it gunned down a foreign militant during the wee hours.
Police identified the slain militant as Omar Bilal who according to Superintendent of Police Budgam belonged to Lashkar Toiba and was a Pakistani National. However, later in the day locals of Lalehar Pulwama claimed the body of the slain saying he was Shawkat Ahmad Lone son of Muhammad Shaban Lone who was missing from November this year.
The people even went to Chadoora, to claim the body resulting in clashes between the protesters and the forces in Krimshoora area.
Later, according to reports the brother of Shawkat, was shown the body who did not identify him as his brother hence endorsing the police statement about the slain militant.
