Sheikh Imran Calls On Dr Farooq Abdullah

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Kashmir Chapter Chairman Sheikh Imran called on Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah at his residence on Friday. Imran apprised Dr Abdullah about various initiatives done by CII in Kashmir and projects initiated by CII members throughout the state.

Imran gave him a detailed description of investment of each member company and sector wise involvement of CII Member. He explained to Dr Abdullah about the various issues faced by industry.

“There is a huge scope in Agriculture and Food Processing Industry apart from Tourism and local entrepreneurs are investing in these sectors and there are many big projects in pipeline which will give boost to the employment of youth in state,” Imran told senior NC leader.

Chairman CII also complimented the state government for the support being provided to the local entrepreneurs and hoped that government will further improve the infrastructure needed for investment in different sectors. He also appraised Dr Abdullah about different issues pending at the centre level and said that we would like these issues to be raised through his good offices.

Dr Abdullah complimented CII members for their investment in different sectors of Economy and assured his full support to the members. “I am happy to know about the involvement of CII members in Food Processing, Horticulture, and Hospitality,” Dr Farooq told Imran. “I assure you about complete support from my side in solving the genuine demands of the entrepreneurs.”

The Union Minister urged CII members to come forward and help generate more employment opportunities for the youth of the state. “CII members should contribute more towards social causes,” Dr Abdullah said. “Different places for tourism should be taken like Doodpathri, Kokernag, Bungus valley, Kangan, Naranag etc in positive issue with environment and ecology.”

He said eco-tourism, adventure covers, rope way projects and other avenues apart from tourism should be encouraged in handicrafts, agriculture and horticulture sectors

Imran also invited Dr Abdullah for a detailed interaction with CII Members and thanked him for his support and time and also briefed the role of CII about post earthquake rehabilitation work done by CII at Uri and Leh.

While briefing Dr Abdullah about CII delegation led by Waseem Tramboo that visited USA in December 2012, the senior leader congratulated Imran about the delegation and also about the delegates of 70 US companies visiting in September 2013 and further about Kashmir Festival in USA.
