Sheikh Imran elected as Dy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation


Sheikh Imran has been elected as the Deputy Mayor of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday with the support from the Congress and the independents.

Imran secured 35 votes while his rival candidate for the deputy mayoral post Saleem got 34 votes in the 74-member SMC, Commissioner of the civic body, said an official.

Imran, a Kashmir-based young entrepreneur, is director of Kehwah Group of Companies which has interests ranging from Silk, Transport, Hotel & Horticulture, Retail, Restaurant Adventure Tourism, Textiles, Logistics, and Handicrafts.
