Panic gripped entire old city when according to locals loud gunshots were heard in Eidgah area after Eid namaz. According to reports soon after Eid prayers, there were protests in the area as masked youth came to streets with flags and resorted to stone pelting.
The locals told Kashmir Life that government forces resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse protesters. Till last reports came in there was sort of chaos in area as youth engaged forces in stone pelting.
Pertinently after long duration, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq offered Eid namaz at Eidgah.
