SRINAGAR: Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Friday praised Kashmir for its beauty, noting that he was particularly impressed by the natural surroundings and the bargaining skills of the shikarawalas. Dhawan said he visited Dal Lake the previous night and found the view stunning. “I was very impressed by the beauty of the place and the bargaining skills of the local vendors on houseboats,” he said.
He said that the shikarawalas have excellent marketing skills and managed to completely convince him to purchase their products.
“The people showed a lot of love, and the atmosphere here has been calm. I hope more international cricket will be played here in the future,” he added.
Reflecting on his visit as a Delhi native and his long-standing connection with cricket, Dhawan said that the Legends League cricket is of high quality, with legends playing the game.
“There should be zeal and enthusiasm in everyone to work hard, and that’s what I did. I am very excited to play in Srinagar and entertain the people of Kashmir. I have played a lot with JK, and my relatives also live in Jammu. The feeling has been amazing,” Dhawan said. (KNO)
