As the late evening reports emerge of attack on patrolling party of 62 Rashtriya Rifles in Bas Kuchan village of Shopian district, one person is reported to be killed and four armymen injured.
According to reports, the driver of Sumo in which armymen were travelling has been killed in the attack while four army personnel have sustained injuries.
The militants had resorted to heavy firing on the patrolling party when they were retreating to their camp.
Earlier, 62 RR was part of the massive search operation in Shopian district which started in the wee hours of Thursday.
