Srinagar

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Sunday asked people to march towards the civil secretariat tomorrow to protest against ‘continuous bloodshed’ in Kashmir.

JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik made the announcement after the killing of five militants and five civilians in Badigam village of Shopian by government forces today.

Taking to a twitter handle Mirwaiz Omar Farooq wrote “Words fail to express the pain of the tragedy unfolding in #Shopian as the count of the brutally killed by Indian forces keeps rising!Tomorrow as the “Durbar“of our killers opens in srinagar, leadership and people from allwalks,Traders, lawyers, students, employees and others will1/2, (SIC)”.

In another tweet Mirwaiz wrote “move towards civil secretariat and will sit in a peaceful dharna till the daily carnage is not stopped .The protest strike will continue.(JRL) 2/2 #KashmirKillings.”

Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir government is all set to start functioning from Srinagar  tomorrow for next six months after shifting from winter capital Jammu as part of pre-independence biannual Darbar Move practice.

Raj Bhavan, Civil Secretariat and other offices closed in Jammu and are scheduled to reopen here tomorrow as per the darbar move, a century-old practice under which government functions six month each in the two capitals.

The government will function in the summer capital till late October and then move to Jammu, the winter capital of the state, in the first week of November.
