Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday was not allowed to move out of his residence where he has been placed under detention.
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had called for ‘Shopian chalo’ today to express solidarity with the people and offer condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in Sunday’s clashes.
Witnesses said that a large number of police and forces had blocked the road leading to Geelani and nobody was allowed to move in nor was anybody allowed to come out.
Even media persons were not allowed to reach near the residence of Geelani who repeatedly tried to open the main gate of his residence but police had locked that from outside,reports said.
