Amid pro-freedom slogans, thousands of people from several villages of south Kashmir on Sunday attended the funeral prayers of slain10th class student Nouman Ashraf Bhat, at his native village of Bolsoo of Kulgam district.
Bhat was injured after being hit by a bullet in clashes with the forces near the site of a gunfight in Batgund village of Kapran.
He was shifted to district hospital Kulgam where he was declared dead on arrival.
The police spokesman in a statement said: “around the encounter site one injured individual identified as Nouman Ashraf Bhat of Bolous Kulgam referred to the hospital has succumbed.”
Eyewitnesses said that amid Pro-freedom slogans, Bhat was laid to rest while thousands of people including women and children participated in his funeral procession.
