SRINAGAR: A top Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit commander Sajad Afghani has been killed in a three-day-long gunfight in Rawalpora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday morning taking the death toll of militants to two.

An official said that one more militant identified as Sajjad Afghani was killed in the gunfight in Rawalpora.
Earlier, police had said that one militant was killed in the encounter on Sunday.
A police spokesperson identified the slain militant as Jahangir Ahmad Wani, a resident of Rakh Narapora Shopian. Wani has been active since September 2020.
